G’day, I’m Beau
I am an Australian-trained osteopathic manual therapist and founder of New Trails Osteo, Sebastopol.
I believe that our bodies have an innate wisdom and drive towards wellness and a foundational ability to thrive after injury. I see my role as a partner in your recovery and am committed to helping you overcome barriers to living without pain.
I have a diverse range of experience working with the human body to help relieve both acute and chronic pain and dysfunction. I have worked in private practice and residential aged care facilities. In those settings I assessed and treated a large range of musculoskeletal conditions across the lifespan.
Before coming to Sebastopol, I left a busy practice in Australia. There I helped many people manage or overcome conditions such as recurring lower back pain, shoulder injuries, neck pain and headaches. I leverage a variety of osteopathic techniques, including soft tissue work, joint mobilization, and rehabilitation exercises, in order to craft personalized plans that get you moving freely and feeling your best.
I hold a Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Master of Osteopathic Medicine from Southern Cross University in Australia. I have undertaken post-graduate certificates in chronic pain management through Stanford University and the NOI group in Australia, as well as certifying as an “Oxygen Advantage” advanced functional breathing instructor.
Important Information:
In the United States, the term "osteopath" refers to a medical doctor who can diagnose disease, perform surgery, prescribe medication, and legally perform spinal manipulation techniques. I do not claim to have undertaken this training and will not provide the above.
In Australia, where I received my education, osteopaths are university-trained healthcare professionals with similar training to chiropractors or physical therapists. Although trained in spinal manipulation I cannot and do not use those techniques here in the US.
I am a non-physician osteopathic manual therapist (also known as an osteopathic manual practitioner).
I focus on osteopathic manual therapy techniques and do not provide medical diagnoses, prescribe medications, or offer surgery advice.
